This is one of the projects I've worked on that I feel the proudest of. Some very talented people worked on it to make this happen. Directed by both my friends @polsola and @guillecomin and art directed by me and Eudald Salarich but also animated by an insanely talented crew of both cell and motion animators. All that said, as much as I liked the end result, it also found its own share of criticism. My conclusion on this topic is that art is a divisive form of expression, specially when you are dealing with cultural topics. Everybody has their own perspective of their own environment.This piece can either feel like a tribute to some, but to others, the abstraction itself can feel like a stereotyped version of something greater. Both opinions are valid to me, and I respect and also understand both of them. Overall, I'm happy that the piece is out and that the discussion can go even further.

This is one of the projects I've worked on that I feel the proudest of. Some very talented people worked on it to make this happen. Directed by both my friends @polsola and @guillecomin and art directed by me and Eudald Salarich but also animated by an insanely talented crew of both cell and motion animators. All that said, as much as I liked the end result, it also found its own share of criticism. My conclusion on this topic is that art is a divisive form of expression, specially when you are dealing with cultural topics. Everybody has their own perspective of their own environment.This piece can either feel like a tribute to some, but to others, the abstraction itself can feel like a stereotyped version of something greater. Both opinions are valid to me, and I respect and also understand both of them. Overall, I'm happy that the piece is out and that the discussion can go even further.
