Boreal (@borealhki) is a contemporary restaurant in Helsinki shaped by the seasons of Finland, from the first signs of spring to the deep stillness of winter. Opening tomorrow, it brings this rhythm into its cuisine and atmosphere. To mark the occasion, part of the identity is revealed: a curated selection of archival photographs, mostly from the Finnish Museum of Photography, used throughout the project’s communications — where past landscapes and atmospheres echo into the present.
The identity was beautifully assembled at Non-Objective.

It came and went, as fleeting as the times it explored — yesterday, “Clockwise and Otherwise: Non-Objective Times” reached its final day. At Pop Hannam, a space by Post Poetics @postpoetics, we showed 145 clock faces — and today, we’re sharing them all in a swift visual record. A passing record for a project about passing time. And a moment to acknowledge the heads & hands behind the clocks:

One part of the Outcomes Studies exhibition we had at Small Small Space in Milano was 30 cards with tips on how one can study controlled randomness in everyday life.

This year’s identity concept for @mental.fest
In every film at the festival, the main character and what happens to him/her is very important, the viewer feels associated with him/her and lives the emotions along with the character.
This year’s identity is dedicated to this aspect and emphasizes the fact that every viewer can be in the shoes of the film’s heroes. All the graphics are made by printing out and cutting movie frames that are screened at the festival.

The second year of designing for the @pobegi_les festival.
This year’s concept is built on escaping into a separate hidden reality to cope with what is happening in the world around us. This reality, like this year’s festival, is called the Inside Out.
Together we made a website with a manifesto that artists are invited to interact with in order to create works for the festival. They can use it in many different ways, sometimes absurdly and illogically, choosing individual words or creating new meanings, and the mechanics of the site encourage them to do so.
The main feature of this site is a button with a rotated zero, which becomes an eye that helps to see the inside out of the site.

Design for @pobegi_les
This year, Pobegi focused on developing connections between self-organizations, communities, art groups, cooperative movements, and grassroots initiatives. The festival identity metaphorically used duct tape as a simple and independent way of connecting and binding things together. In all communication, duct tape was used to hold all the blocks together, and additional graphics were created using it. It was important to maintain the festival's symbol — the sprout — and we modified it to fit into the overall system. The festival's name was also covered with duct tape to encourage participants to come up with a name (emphasizing the festival's independent organization), so it was intentionally hidden.
However, the visual form of the name became so popular that it was decided to keep it. In addition, duct tape was also very useful in navigation.
