Sun Ra: Do the Impossible – go see it!

The film will be screening at both @sidewalkfilm in Birmingham, Alabama (May 20) as well as @icalondon in the UK (May 21) – and is also available on @PBSAmericanMasters.

Director @christineturner of @firelightfilms did a fantastic job telling Ra’s story, prioritizing mystery and music over a dry, standard biography….As Ra is anything but.

Filled with archival footage – much which has never been seen or heard before – it takes us all through a glorious, vibrant journey of Sun Ra and the Arkestra.

Veryl Oakland’s photos are also featured throughout, from his time with Ra in NYC and at the now historic-home in Germantown PA.
