Altar of the Afrotransfuture was my first performance bringing my poetry to life with theater, soundscapes, folklore, and more. i’ve never felt so alive, it really felt like i was flying that day.

thank you to everyone that came to witness & commune wit me on the stage and @hydeparkartcenter Bridge Performance Incubator for believing in me and my vision. y’all shoulda never got me started, ima be chasing this feeling forever. i hope it’s chasing me too 🤍

wow wow wow, i don’t even have the right words to express what this experience did for me!!!! i’m so grateful to have written my first play ever alongside such an amazing team of talented people @celebrationthtr i’m in awe of how you all brought my play to life, it was so magical and healing for me. the actors left me speechless! sound design and projections was crazy! everything felt just right, it felt like coming home each night i witnessed it. thank you for handling my work with so much care and intention, and for riding wit me and guidingme through all my risk taking. i’m so proud of little me, she so special. we so special.

Answer the Caul is an afrosurrealist play taking place in the Black present, past, and future, all at the same time. We time traveled with Relic and Uncle Frank through a journey of reclamation of the body and ancestral inheritance 🤍

A griot, a nun, and a twink walked into a bar and left everybody born anew! If you in Los Angeles, I’d love for you to go see the magic we made ✨

“ I Heard the Voice” @hydeparkartcenter January 2026

+ a lil behind the scenes from my living room studio!

In this performance I embodied a spirit named Somebody, inspired by MLK’s “Life’s Blueprint” speech. Somebody was hung on a plantation in the Delta, went to heaven, and found out The King was on his way up there too. So he decided to cross back over and follow The King up north to the West Side of Chicago. Somebody spent his time out west with the Vice Lords, contemplating his stance on violence and nonviolence, making his final choice by the time the 1968 riots broke out following The King’s assassination.

At the bottom of Somebody’s pure whites, is a mixture of broken mirror glass, plastics, and shards of glass bottles I found on my walks around my home out west. I wanted Somebody to glisten in the light of the projection, just like how the West Side still does. The rest of the pics are a few test runs of me rehearsing, filling my house with smoke and playing with the whip

The soundscape playing on the first picture was created and edited by me using audio clips from various MLK speeches and found media/sound effects. You can listen to the full version of RIOT on my website, along with source credits!

If you were there to witness, I hope you left wit some hope on you. and if you didn’t have the chance to see, I hope I get to see you next time 🫶🏾 thank you @colectivomultipolar for the wonderful pictures!!
