Make a butt. Save some water.

Inspired by my Grandads ability to make anything in the name of gardening, I’m finally pulling out my finger to share some knowledge.

This is a great way to save / collect water. I emptied buckets into it that were hanging around from the winter. Saves you having to keep bringing out the hose as well.

This is fun. Maybe I’ll do more, maybe this will be the only one. Who knows. Rudy seemed to enjoy it as well.

Something a bit different to share - these are some test images I shot over a NYE trip a few years ago that I’ve dug out to have a look at again. I set a small brief to capture the light of nature. I was inspired by an artist I saw that traced the shadows of plants onto paper.

I used small textures paper and the sunlight hitting various plants in the garden and then a bit of post editing to trim the canvas to size.

Maybe something to experiment more with in the future. (Swipe to the end to see the making of).

I’ve always loved shooting on location, and at The Hurst, Arvon House, it’s really more of a challenge to choose which of the beautiful rooms you want to use, rather than trying to find a suitable space.

Earlier this year I was invited to work with my long term collaborator @thaughtonpoetry to produce images for his new show. Inspired by a @bujubanton record cover, we spent no more than 45 minutes in the studio on a sweltering summer day getting these shots.

Simple lighting setup with an edit to pay homage to the original work. I absolutely love working with inspiration in this way and I’m really pleased at how the images turned out.
