In fact at the @acsa_info awards there were many extraordinary winners (so my favorite John Vladovic did not take it all)!! But wonderful John was justifiably honored with the Student Services Administrator of the Year! John always says yes and he works tirelessly with enormous joy and energy and intelligence. @laschoolsnorth @lausdunified is lucky to have him. You see him here with his amazing father- Richard Vladovic who was an esteemed member of the Lausd school board. Like father like son. Public education makes the world a better place. And those who spend their lives dedicated to serving public education are heroes.

You probably aren’t going to get a lot of chances in life to take your kids to see Ionesco and a stellar production of #ExitTheKing. @anoisewithin is doing theater that challenges and delights and isn’t being done at most rep companies. Going to their shows is not only a pleasure for me, but it’s a chance to have my kids exposed to great writers that aren’t produced regularly. And yes- the kids loved the show. It’s very very entertaining.

So two things (as I like posting my kid more than myself. I make myself grumpy and my girl makes me not grumpy):

1. She took my husband’s absolutely shredded army pants and turned them somehow without a pattern into hoodie last night after she did her homework

2. Then she headed to her track meet today and did a new PR in 300 m hurdle and her team won 4x400 and 4x100. But she is quick to point out that weren’t racing against anyone 4x400 (end of day tired kids everyone left but them) and I SAY A VICTORY IS A VICTORY. Pop the champagne.

Daughter was chosen as a winner out of over 14k entries as a winner in the @nytimes #minimemoir competition. Top 7 were published today hard copy in the times. She is over the moon. So appreciative and thrilled. I love her piece. #daughter #writing

Kid home for spring break and so he’s the lucky winner of plus one with mom to @ctgla @kimsconvenience opening at #ahmansontheatre and it’s a buzzy night with a bunch of folks who are happy they aren’t waiting in a tsa line. Yay live theater!!

Found an old salmon colored cashmere top riddled with moth holes in the cleaning basket and thought well this is a shame. It once was lovely. Gave it to kiddo and she used a Pinterest design as inspiration and did some felting. She could have been studying for SATs @collegeboard but she’s doing what she prefers. Test is on Wednesday. And tomorrow also no time to study cause of course she’s my date to @madeleinepeyroux in LA. Best bday present ever from sweet husband. Let’s hear it for nice music and great craft projects and time with daughters.

At the opening @marktaperforum for @heysned production of #herelieslove with my girl. When she realized the music was by @davidbyrneofficial she demanded that she be my plus one.
I knew the extraordinary @ruthieannmiles (who I was lucky enough to work with on @allriseown) originated this role in NY and I wasn’t lucky enough to be east and see her shine. But wow Iam thrilled to see @reanneacasio tonight. We know this is going to be a party. The theater is buzzing. Yayayay! @ctgla @megmpress
