It’s National Volunteer Week #NVW2026 and we've been highlighting the role that volunteers play in the management of Crown land across NSW.
Volunteer Crown land managers like Katie Leonardi give up their time and energy to care for public land across NSW, such as Dundundra Falls Reserve in the Northern Sydney suburb of Terrey Hills.
🌱 Want to make a difference where you live? Step up and volunteer as a Crown Land Manager board member.

🥾 A major milestone in restoring the @humeandhovelltrack Hume has been reached following damage from the 2019 bushfires and 2020 floods.
🏕️ The Ben Smith Campsite near Tumut has officially reopened after a $350,000 investment from Crown lands to rebuild and upgrade the site.
🍖 Now featuring a new hikers’ hut with sleeping for up to six people, improved water and barbecue facilities, expanded tent areas and - soon - new picnic tables. The rebuild is crowned with a new 1.2 km access track from Yellowin Road, including a pedestrian bridge with scenic views.
🏞️ The campsite reopening marks the final step in restoring one of NSW’s most scenic walking tracks, after nearly 120 km was damaged and $1.3 million in infrastructure was lost.

Campbelltown, we want to hear from you 💬
Plans for an $84.4 million upgrade to Campbelltown Arts Centre are now live, and we’re inviting the community to have a say.
The vision includes a new 350‑seat theatre, bigger gallery spaces, creative studios, community and education rooms, hospitality options and refreshed public areas.

🌊 More than 80 young surfers hit the waves at Hungry Head beach on the Mid North Coast this weekend for the Surf Reflections Junior Series.
🏕️ The Series is held in partnership with @surfestnewcastle by @reflectionsholidays, which cares for 47 community reserves spanning more than 9000 hectares on NSW Crown land and is a great example of how public spaces can support local communities, tourism and the next generation of surfing talent.
Alanni Morris and Max Goold took out the U14s girls and boys, with Pearl Eaton and Hugo Spierings winning in the U16s girls and boys categories. 🥇
Former World Surf League pro surfer Trent Munro and Newcastle pro surfer Jacko Baker were on hand to mentor the competitors from NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. 🤙
