Onsdag 27. Mai: Dobbelt finsk death metal-aften med @Galvanizer og Malformed.

Soumi skal ikke køddes med på generelt grunnlag, men hvertfall ikke så når det komme til metal. Denne kvelden får vi servert to band som understreker den overstående påstanden så til de grader. Vi snakker røslig death metal av akkurat den rette typen som nikker annerkjennende tilbake til sjangerens analoge storheter heller en sjangerens moderne kvantifiserte varianter. Vi snakker plenty dynamikk og brutalitet med punkedriv og riff fra en annen verden.

Death Metal er fett når det låter som death metal, men best når det har et godt punkedriv i bunnen. Finske Galvanizer har P E L E N T Y av den slags. I kombinasjon med en saftig HM2-gitartone og brennheite riff så er det rett og slett ett band for de primitive, men desto mer underholdende øyeblikkene. Vi er ikke her for å trives, men det må da for svarte være lov å vifte litt på håret å ha det fortreffelig underveis, eller? Vi lar rakarøret-riff og en illsint skarptromme svare på det spørsmålet, den siste som står oppreist, vinner!

Galvanizers landsmenn i Malformed har til tross for sin relativt korte levetid rukket å gjøre mesterstykket med å re-etablere melodien i vaskekte dødsmetal. Det er alltid brutalt, virkelig brutalt, men melodien skjærer som et ildrødt knivblad gjennom hele låtmaterialet. Lydbildet er tungt, brutalt og dødelig, men alltid i utvikling, som en sonisk historiefortelling klar for å lokke deg inn og dra deg langs en bekmørk landevei dekt i likslim og beinrester. Selv om grunnmuren står i klassisk death metal er det også spor av Göteborg uten at det blir platt, og det amerikanske uten at det blir heeelt over kanten. Med bare to EPer og en fullengder på nakken står Malformed støtt i sitt egent uttrykk gjennomsyret av sjangerforståelse og musikalske egenskaper som 90% av alle band ville gitte bassistens høyrearm for.

GALVANIZER (FI) (Death Metal / Grindcore)
Galvanizer emerged onto the death metal scene in 2013 as a solo project. From its humble beginnings, the project expanded to include a second member in the following year. Fuelled by their shared musical vision, the duo embarked on an intensive rehearsal period that culminated in the creation of their debut demo, “Ground Above.” This initial offering showcased Galvanizer’s unrelenting dedication to brutal and grinding death metal, characterized by an abundance of energy, rawness, and a deliberately crude production style. Building on this foundation, the band underwent a significant lineup change in 2015 with the addition of a new drummer, solidifying their roster.
The year 2015 proved to be pivotal for Galvanizer as they unveiled their EP, “Horrid Tales of Death...”, which marked a substantial leap forward in terms of songwriting, production quality, and overall delivery. The release of the EP was accompanied by a series of successful live performances in Finland and Denmark throughout 2016.

MALFORMED (FI) (Death Metal)
Malformed is a vile death metal entity from Helsinki, Finland. The band has released a demo and an EP through Rotted Life Records and Extremely Rotten Productions respectively, with their full length debut ”Confinement of Flesh” released via Dark Descent Records in July 2025. Malformed has toured Finland and Europe, delivering their relentless live performances - come witness the carnage yourself…

The Italian trio Exequiae Sacro has only one EP to their name, but their lineup features seasoned members from Hadit. On their debut “Leading a War Against Tools of Posthumanity”, they deliver a fresh blend of filthy death metal with doom elements, something that fans of bands like Grave Miasma or Necros Christos will definitely appreciate.
