We invite both professional and amateur filmmakers, as well as fellow nonprofits and community-based organizations that have invested in filmmaking to tell the stories about the region, to submit films that will be screened at our film series later this year. There is no submission fee!

The film series events will be held on August 19, September 26, and October 21.

A seafood HAACP Plan (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) is required by the FDA for seafood producers to identify and control food safety hazards. This two-day workshop will be taught by seafood safety expert, Brandii O'Reagan (Washington Sea Grant). Registration closes on July 3rd.

This week, the Green Workforce Academy visited Mudbone Grown for a hands-on learning experience in farming and sustainable food systems. Participants spent time with Arthur and Shantae, hearing directly about their journey, the realities of farming, and how agriculture can become a meaningful and sustainable livelihood.

The Green Workforce Academy (GWA) is a 5-week paid training program for Black, Indigenous, and other adults of color in Portland, creating pathways into green careers through hands-on learning and community connection.

Last week, Suzie O'Neill, Jon Bonkoski, and Meghan Stangeland from our Coastal Communities and Fisheries Team visited Sitka, Alaska for the @SustainableSoutheast Partnership (SSP) Spring Retreat.

SSP is a collective impact network working to strengthen cultural, ecological, and economic resilience across Southeast Alaska. The Retreat provided an opportunity to deepen relationships across the region as we work to support resilent food systems and mariculture in Southeast AK.
