10 years of YEAHBUZZY! Can you believe it? So much younger & clueless on how to plan, launch, retain and grow a business from someone who has never done any of those things. 10 years later, things are so different, yet oddly the same.

In 2016, YBZY began very much as a side gig, storing inventory in our guest bedroom, designing and producing products with folx that took a chance on me, fulfilling online orders from family/friends and putting ourselves “out there” at ATL markets that we love to this day. 

Now in 2026, YBZY has grown (organically & bootstrapped) and reaches customers & clients online, via our wholesale partners, markets & events across the country and our retail shop in Atlanta.

YBZY is a “community focused retail brand with design agency elements”. The community pillar has always been and will always be a priority ours. I’ve never thought of myself as a leader or people manager, but it’s something I work at everyday. I’m grateful for my employees, artists/designers that popup in my shop and events I host, non-profits that trust and support me in so many ways, etc. I do not take any of those for granted.

Working as a Designer/Art Director for small design firms & Fortune 500 corporations the first decade of my career, I had no idea how to start my own business. Did I wing it? Absolutely. Did I have support and encouragement from friends & family? Thankfully. Am I still trying to figure it out? Every single day.

One of the most important things I have learned on my career journey is how important small, locally owned businesses are to me. It’s where I belong and I am fortunate to contribute to and exist in. It’s literally the most difficult and challenging thing I’ve ever done, but also the most rewarding. I continue to fail and learn from my mistakes everyday. But YBZY is still here!
