New North Sea drilling will only lock us into volatile energy bills for longer, with even more of our money lining the pockets of oil and gas companies.

But there is a solution.

The more wind and solar we build, the less we rely on expensive gas- and the less global crises can push up our bills.

The British government is currently deciding whether to give Ithaca Energy the green light to develop Rosebank oil field in Scottish waters. Ithaca Energy's largest shareholder is Delek, an Israeli oil conglomerate which has received over $1billion in dividends from Ithaca since 2020.

Delek provides essential services to Israel’s settlements in the West Bank, which are illegal under international law. In 2020, it won a tender to provide refuelling services for the Israeli military.

If Rosebank goes ahead, more than £200 million more profits could flow to Delek. It is essential that the government refuses this development, which would not only be a catastrophic blow to campaigns for climate justice, but could send thousands to a company complicit in Israel's genocide.

The ONLY way to insulate ourselves from price spikes is by doubling down on renewables, like wind, and upgrading homes with solar power and heat pumps, so we can free ourselves from expensive and volatile oil and gas

BREAKING 📣: We're outside the Foreign Office in Westminster to demand the UK Government reject Rosebank.

Approving this enormous oil field would be morally indefensible, and could violate the UK’s legal obligations under international law.

If approved, Rosebank could send £200 million to Israeli energy giant Delek Group, known to operate in illegal settlements in the West Bank and supply fuel to the Israeli military via subsidiary Delek Israel.

This flow of money is thanks to Rosebank co-owner, Ithaca Energy, who are majority-owned by Delek Group. Through this connection, Delek has already make over ONE $BILLION from North Sea oil and gas exploitation.
