Standing in a garden of flowers, a spray of vibrant colour and delicate shape under every footstep. There's a soft hum of wind and songbirds call to each other from the trees. You lean down to take the stem of a pink rose between your fingers and breathe in its scent. Sweet, gentle, and then cloying. Almost syrupy, thick and heady. A sharp stab in your fingertip as your hand slips and a thorn meets its target, the perfume grows stronger and the colours around you become a kaleidoscope, vivid and nauseating. And then you're falling.
