Dolores Heights Residence, San Francisco, California. Sited on a deeply sloping site in the Dolores Heights Special Use District, this new construction four-story house is a deep study in volume, texture and material. A two-story atrium space offers a central organizing volume that connects all four levels through the introduction of a central floating staircase. A custom textured millwork wall, slipped into the atrium, orients the visitor, emphasizing view and spatial sequence. With an unusual program—a third-floor entry hall that leads down to more private areas—the house’s interior balances natural stones and woods against crisp metals and carved glass voids, each material playing and interacting with light to create an engaged and dynamic series of spaces.

The two Max Towers are the centerpiece of the residential and commercial quarter Aere, taking shape in the former industrial district of Stöcklin, which spreads between Reinach and Aesch south of Basel, Switzerland. The tower volumes, roughly 40 meters high, are striking for the continuous balconies that surround each level over a recessed ground floor. The girdle of balconies merges the urban flair of high-rise living with the qualities of generous garden space associated with a family house.

🏖️ Piazza San Lorenzo

❤️ A small cabin with a big sense of place. Tucked between vineyards and olive trees on Zakynthos, Greece, the Root Cabin by @kasawoo_studio is all about slowing down. Just 20m², built from timber, and designed to live lightly on the land, it brings together family history, local craft and a softer way of building.

In Rome’s Prati neighborhood, a two-story apartment within a 20th-century building has been reimagined to restore its original spatial depth and natural light. The renovation, led by the Roman architecture firm @123architectureoffice highlights the vaulted brick ceiling, removes the heavy mezzanine, and introduces a sculptural lemon-yellow staircase as a vibrant focal point. Materials, textures, and tones create a refined dialogue between past and present, where heritage and contemporary design coexist in harmony.

CarapaCe House, project by Achyutam Design. Picture a home—walls standing tall, a roof stretched above. The familiar image most people conjure and many have lived within. But when long-time clients approached Achyutam Designs to craft something different for their farmhouse on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, the team saw it as an invitation to elevate the client’s lifestyle and also break the mold. The designers saw this as an invitation to break the mould, move beyond the conventionally walled life indoors and reimagine the entire site as a living, breathing sanctuary. Here, the boundary between indoors and out is intentionally blurred, with flourishing greenery cultivated over time to create a unique microclimate—an experience where the landscape itself becomes an integral part of the home’s essence. @achyutam_designs

This project by @jordiherreroarquitectos, focused on transforming the historic Can Oliver building, located in the center of Palma de Mallorca, into a 5-star boutique hotel, while respecting and enhancing its original features, such as courtyards, coffered ceilings, and Gothic paintings. The approach was to integrate the hotel into the building, respecting its essence rather than imposing a specific architectural style. The project strikes a balance of contrasts: old and new, traditional and avant-garde, rugged and gentle, heavy and light. It is a building that, while fixed, changes with light and time, managing to be timeless while simultaneously embracing the passage of time.

Puerto Escondido, Mexico. The house sits on a rocky point, as a beacon to the sea, with two fronts towards the Pacific coast. The cross-shaped courtyard has four seven-meter-high volumes, with a pitched roof that frame views to the sea. The conceptual process started from the idea of defining two compositional axes, creating a cross shaped patio that articulates the 4 volumes of the project. These volumes were key to achieve an adequate integration between the architecture and its immediate surrounding. @baaqtp
