Living proof that not all Brits love to queue 💁♀️
Ad. My favourite time to host is a summer heatwave which is made stress-free with @ocadouk’s help! I think the best kind of hosting is the kind that’s easy… food prepped ahead, simple sides and everyone’s well fed and enjoying themselves! These are some quick things I do ahead to keep things easy but elevate a regular BBQ. My full recipes and tips so you can recreate at home are below!
Crispy Green Goddess Potatoes recipe:
Parboil a bag of new potatoes
Smash using the back of a tray (the more surface area, the crispier they are!)
Generously cover with olive oil and roast at 180 for 15-20 mins
Blitz 2 heaped tbsp of Greek yoghurt with the juice of a lemon and a large handful of dill, coriander, mint and parsley
Add salt to taste
Chicken Wings recipe:
Mix Two heaped tbsps of Ottolenghi shawarma marinade
1 tsp of ginger puree
Juice of a lemon
Generous glug of olive oil
Mix the marinade and wings with your hands. Leave in the fridge (can leave overnight)
Bbq when ready!

Ocado Organic Mushrooms and Hellim (Halloumi)
I can get all the specialist ingredients I need from Ocado, which I absolutely LOVE; pul biber (Aleppo pepper), pomegranate molasses, dried chickpeas, sumac, fresh organic produce for my salads, organic flour for homemade pide (Cypriot-style pitta bread), and organic diced organic lamb shoulder for the şiş kebap (skewered kebabs) to cook outside, my favourite place to be 🔥💕

MY EFFORTLESS BALSAMIC ROASTED TOMATO TART
WITH BURRATA AND BASIL
Serves 6
INGREDIENTS:
1 sheet of puff pastry, I used the @marksandspencerfood all butter one
300g tomatoes, sliced
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp thyme leaves
2 medium sized fresh burrata, torn
8 fresh basil leaves, torn
Sea Salt
For brushing
1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon of milk
METHOD:
1.Pre-heart the oven to 200oC (fan) and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
2.Place the 2 sheets of puff pastry on top of each other on a lightly floured work surface. Using a roll pin, roll the pastry into a 28cm round, and then transfer to the prepared baking tray. Brush the border, about 4cm with the egg wash and fold the edges of the pastry dough, overlapping slightly. Then brush any missing spots with the egg wash to make sure you get all the border coated, this will make it lovely and golden crisp when it comes out of the oven, Pop it into the fridge while you get everything else ready.
3.In a bowl mix together the balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil and fresh thyme, and toss the sliced tomatoes in the bowl, so they are completely coated.
4.Remove the pastry on the tray from the fridge. Spoon the tomatoes on to the pastry, Overlapping the tomatoes. Keep the leftover balsamic honey dressing from thetomatoes to dress a green salad if you wish.
5.Bake in the pre-heated oven for 25 minutes.
6.Allow to cool for 5 minutes and then top with the torn burrata and fresh basil leaves. Lastly season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Grilled Bavette & Charred Greens 🥩🥬
ad | Summer BBQ season is finally here my peeps, and what better way to stay prepped by ordering everything you need on @ocadouk (a genuine lifesaver) with next-to-no substitutions. They even have @marksandspencerfood AND @boroughbrothcompany , who make my favourite chicken stock in the world.
Ingredients:
For the Steak
200g Bavette Steak
500ml Soy Sauce
300ml Mirin
3 Tbsp Honey
For the Greens
2 Bundles Pak Choi
2 Celery Sticks
1 Jalapeno
50g Chives
1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
For the Sauce
1 Tbsp Pink Peppercorns
1 Tsp Black Peppercorns
1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
2 Tbsp Butter
100ml Chicken Stock
1 Tbsp Potato Starch
Method:
Add the ingredients for the steak to a bowl and stir until combined, then submerge the steak into the liquid.
Cook the steak on a grill flipping every 20 seconds. After a minute dunk the steak back into the liquid and place back on the grill. Repeat a couple of times until cooked to your preferred temperature.
Season the pak choi and celery with salt and oil. Place on the grill to char, turning once after 1 minute. Remove and roughly chop. Place into a bowl with the rest of the ingredients for the greens and toss.
In a pan brown some butter and add in toasted crushed peppercorns and cumin seeds. Add the chicken stock and thicken with potato starch. Season to taste.
Plate up and garnish with a lime wedge.

AD| Braised peas & artichokes with sumac and tamarind, all served on top of creamy labneh - a lovely little recipe of mine in this months @ocadouk mag! It is peeeeeerfect for all summer gatherings with friends, and works really well as part of a picnic spread too- just make sure you don’t forget the fluffy pita. You can get all the ingredients delivered straight to your door from Ocado, making it easy pea-sy (sorry)
Ingredients
3 tbsp olive oil plus extra to garnish
1 bunch Jumbo Spring Onions, finely sliced
1 tsp table salt
3 cloves garlic, finely sliced
200g young garden peas
250g broad beans (I used the frozen ones from Ocado, defrosted)
1 little gem lettuce, roughly shredded
50g preserved lemon, finely chopped
200ml white wine
160g chargrilled Italian artichokes, quartered
1 tbsp tamarind paste
25g unsalted butter
15g picked mint, roughly chopped plus a few leaves to garnish
½ tbsp sumac plus extra to garnish
200g labneh
Saute your spring onions and salt and gently saute for 3 minutes until they are soft and beginning to colour. Add the garlic, as well as the peas, broad beans, and little gem. Stir, then add in the wine, artichokes, butter and tamarind paste. Saute for 8-9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid has evaporated. Turn off the heat and leave to sit for 10-15 minutes before stirring through the mint and sumac. Serve on top of the labneh, smoothed onto a serving dish
