Last week, Will spent an incredible day visiting the marble region of Laas — from traditional stone carving workshops and a specialised school dedicated entirely to stonemasonry, to factory and underground quarry visits.
The level of craftsmanship, artistry and heritage within the European stone industry is seriously inspiring. A reminder that great stonework is built on generations of knowledge, precision and passion.

Il restauro della facciata del Finlandia Talo,progettato dal famoso architetto finlandese Alvar Aalto nel 1962 e costruito tra il 1967 e il 1971, oltre che una questione estetica, è stata una sfida ingegneristica. Dopo decenni di esposizione agli agenti atmosferici, l’involucro originale necessitava di una soluzione più resiliente.
La risposta è arrivata dalla Val Venosta: il LASA BIANCO NUVOLATO®️.
Il progetto è stato curato da @lasamarmo sotto la direzione dello studio Arkkitehdit NRT Oy.
La scelta del marmo di Lasa garantisce una durata di almeno 50 anni nelle condizioni più estreme.
Un approccio rispettoso che valorizza l’involucro originale dettando nuovi standard per il restauro di edifici tutelati.

The iconic Finlandia Talo has been given a fresh new façade! Originally designed by Alvar Aalto and completed in 1971, this architectural masterpiece has now been refurbished with LASA BIANCO NUVOLATO® marble from Lasa Marmo.
Why the change? The original Carrara marble couldn't withstand Helsinki’s climate, leading to the need for a long-lasting and aesthetically perfect replacement. The solution? Lasa marble—proven to stand strong over years!
