Having a baby will make you hate your husband. This is episode 1 of “things I wish I knew before having a baby.”

What made me want to create this series was talking to moms, more often than not they’d be moms I just met on the street, and they’d all tell me the same thing… they hate their husband. It happened so often I was like, why don’t we talk about this more?!

It’s because it’s scary to admit that the man you have the most profound love and respect for, the man who is your best friend, could suddenly become your frenemy during this season. While having a baby changes both of your lives - it’s different for you.

Every single thing about you will change at a molecular level. Your identity will shift and you will experience a different level of consciousness that not only magnifies how deeply unfair the roles are but reveals they were never fair in the first place.

This is motherhood.

All of my love, patience, and kindness goes to my child and whatever little I have left I ask: who am I giving this to? Me or him? This constant state of depletion is a breeding ground for resentment. It’s why so many couples split within those first few years of having a baby.

So if you are deep in the baby trenches, looking over at your partner thinking, “why aren’t you doing this right?!” I get you sister and you are not alone.
