One of the inspirations behind For Flora is my best friend and muse, Flora. We live miles apart, and when we’re not together, she’s the first person I video call when I’m particularly moved by a sunset, and who I send pictures of the same wildflowers to from 10 different angles. When we are together, she’s who I run across the street with just to capture a glint of golden light reflecting off a sidewalk, or who I fawn over the color, symmetry and texture of a vegetable we’ve come across at the farmer’s market with.

I designed this logo with the idea of two best friends/floral stems holding hands dancing with the wind under the warm golden sun.

This is for Flora.

ABOUT US: We are storytellers who just happen to tell visual stories through flowers. This is only natural because we believe that flowers are the most beautiful things that mother nature has given us. I suppose that makes us florists.

We curate flowers to infuse the right energy into your life,whether it be for the day you’ve been waiting for all your life, or for the person you want to honour and cherish forever. We take equal delights in making your special day truly special, or elevating an ordinary day feel extraordinary. Through the colours and textures of flowers, we help you bring to life the colours and textures of your event and what it means to you.

SOFT LAUNCH: There is something BIG I’ve been working on for the past few months that I’m very excited/proud to present to you: For Flora, my very own floral service company.

It’s been nearly a decade since I’ve become a professional floral designer, and not a day goes by in my life when I’m not obsessing over how to express something meaningful through flowers.Flowers are my chosen medium for creativity, and to be honest it often feels more like flowers chose me! My name is Jasmine after all, and my mother probably knew from the beginning that one day this would be my path (she always knows, she says).

I started For Flora to help you bring about the beauty you envision for you and your loved ones. This is the reason why I became a floral designer in the first place: I wanted to curate the beauty I see in this world with you. I know you feel the same, and For Flora is here to help you do just that!

About 2 years ago, I made the jump to leave my workplace of 7 years and start a completely new chapter.

I wish I could say I felt fearless and confident… but really, I was full of self-doubt, overthinking everything and questioning whether I should just stay comfortable instead.

Was I making a mistake?
Who did I think I was trying to do this on my own??

I was in a big transition - emotions high, relationships shifting and my sense of self feeling pretty fragile.

I was deep in my feelings one day and called my mom out of the blue to vent. I went on and on until she abruptly cut me off and said:

“Remember whose daughter you are.”

Not softly. Not gently. Very direct. Very loud. Very HER. 📣

It was in that moment, it was like a switch came over me and there was an immediate emotional reset.

My partner, who was sitting in the car with me, looked over and said, “Wait… THAT is what fixed it?”

And honestly? Yes.

Because if you know my mom, you know she is not subtle. Her confidence is loud. Her opinions are (WAYYY) louder. And self-doubt is simply not an acceptable personality trait in her household. 🙅🏻‍♀️

She has been my biggest hype woman ever since - sharing every flower photo like she’s my unpaid social media manager, asking for project updates like she’s on the board of directors and making sure everyone she meets knows what I’m doing.

Growing up, “I’m proud of you” wasn’t said very often (Asian kids, you get it 😂). But since starting For Flora and taking risks, those three words show up a lot more - and somehow they mean even more now.
