!!HUGE NEWS!! I’m ecstatic to share that two iconic art institutions, @lamamagalleria and @theinvisibledog, are hosting a large, ambitious solo exhibition of my costume / character work, titled JEWESS, this spring! Curated by Lucien Zayan, this show includes photos of me embodying my 3 most recent personas, videos of my performances as these ladies, and custom mannequins my size wearing the actual costumes.

Each one of these projects takes me a full year to complete, and I’ve dreamed of seeing them all together in one space for years. Getting to do this in downtown NYC, in a gorgeous gallery, with such remarkable allies, really is a dream come true. It means the world to me. JEWESS includes some very exciting public programming as well - stay tuned!

I will never forget last night. I’m so grateful to @imisaacmizrahi and @neginfarsad for joining me to speak about Jewish Glamour inside my JEWESS solo exhibition. We shared, we agreed, we disagreed, we sang the praises of @barbrastreisand, and we laughed our heads off.

None of this would have been possible without the brilliant work of @theinvisibledog, @lamamagalleria, or the fabulous audience who filled the room.

JEWESS runs through April 12th! This is your last week to see the show - I hope you will.

On April 10, the exhibition JEWESS by Danielle Durchslag @ddurch hosts a special evening inspired by Mimouna, the vibrant Sephardi Jewish celebration marking the end of Passover—a moment of renewal, abundance, and joyful gathering.

Traditionally opening homes to friends and strangers alike, Mimouna honors a return to shared pleasure, sweetness, and community.

The evening will feature a live performance by Danielle Durchslag as her iconic character the Sabbath Queen. Durchslag's performance work blends ritual, satire, and contemporary cultural reflection. Through this performative lens, ancestral traditions are reimagined with irreverence and depth.

Following the performance, guests will be invited to partake in a generous buffet prepared by @lucienchefambition , centered on wheat and freshly baked breads, symbolizing the end of dietary restrictions and the reintroduction of leavened foods.

In the spirit of Mimouna, the table becomes a site of openness and exchange—an invitation to gather, taste, and celebrate together.
