In the final hours of @secondharvestca Race to Rescue.
The next $25K in donations will be matched, and $1 = 10 meals for people in need. Please help if you can.

Very glad everyone is safe.
An extremely bad night for the team @blueorigin, and those counting on them. My heart goes out to all.
Hopefully the cause of the explosion can be found swiftly, and the launchpad rebuilt on an accelerated timeline.
Making the seat that kept me alive.
The artisans pour gypsum around my body, wait for it to dry, haul me out, and then sculpt a perfect mold of my butt.
That mold is used to shape a polyurethane foam seat liner, covered in fire-resistant blue fabric. Comfy and supportive when we smack violently back into the world.
Don't leave Earth without one.

Proudly Canadian, helping Canadians.

Excellent chair art!
Many thanks to the unknown Bronte artist who painted this Muskoka chair. It’s out of this world :)
And if you sit in it, I’ve got your back.

Protecting the Earth from the scum of the Universe.
When an astronaut gets assigned to a spaceflight, the first question we ask is, "who are you flying with?"
I was so lucky to know, train and fly with Tom and Roman on my third spaceflight. Good people, kind, thoughtful, deeply skilled. Just the kind of folks you want to leave Earth and trust with your life with.
And they're spacemen who look good in black, so we did this photo together :)

The moment the rockets fire, to cushion impact with Earth.
Six nitroglycerine rockets are triggered by a gamma-ray altimeter to fire just before we hit. Inside, we're strapped into crash seats, raised on shock absorbers.
Even still it's wildly violent, like 2 quick car crashes in a row (rocket blast, then impact). And if the wind is blowing us sideways, our Soyuz capsule tumbles end-over-end.
After 6 months of graceful weightlessness, it's a rude (but reliable) welcome home. Sometimes it starts a grass fire ...

We need heat shields to protect us, since we use the air to slow us down as we return to Earth.
From orbital speed, it gets to 1650°C / 3000°F. From the Moon: 2750°C / 5000°F.
For yesterday's Starship suborbital test flight, peak was 1450°C / 2600°F. Great to see the @spacex progress over the last 3 flights. Making them truly reusable is complex and necessary for permanent, cheap space access.

Good morning!
Henry on the edge of the ancient rock of the Canadian Shield.
Testing the next gen lunar surface space suit.
It's easy to climb into (through the back), has good mobility, the gloves work fine. We were evaluating the interfaces with the @astrolab.space rover - launching to the Moon later this year.
Great to see and experience the new legacy of the @axiom.space suit in their Houston test rig.

Good morning, from Canada.
This rainbow was a spectacular double arch, uncannily bright, but what I love best was how the rainbow's end silhouetted our rippling flag. The Maple Leaf, Forever.

Flying the F-18 in defence of Canada was a privilege.
It was also a deep responsibility, intercepting Soviet bombers off our east coast, holding alert for the continent, working cooperatively with
@noradnorthcom.
But the real joy was serving with so many good, motivated, selfless people in the @rcaf_arc.
