I’ve been thinking about this so much since I saw it last week. @boyharnessedwindmusical @sohoplace is an absolutely beautiful piece of work. All good art should transport its audience and this totally did that. For just over two hours, I was right there in Malawi with the characters.

The cast and team tell this story with humour, grace and dignity. It’s utterly absorbing. And @alistair.nwachukwu embodies William perfectly. Phenomenal performances.

It strikes me that this musical is exactly what the UK needs right now. A moving tale of hope and community. It never trivialises the difficulties and challenges of what the characters face, but it is ultimately uplifting and joyous. A real crowd pleaser. And the songs are fantastic (I can’t get It Won’t Work William out of my head)! I will be coming again. 🙌

I knew this production would be exceptional because it had so many of my faves in it (dream cast - @aaron_pierre1 Giles Terera @arthurhboan @jasonpennycooke Olivia Williams @kedarw.s, and the whole ensemble) but I was still blown away. Moving, funny, tragic, switching tones to devastating effect. @clint_dyer_’s direction is a marvel, and the setting and casting add powerful layers to an already complex play. @benstones set is incredible.
Anchored by @aaron_pierre1’s lead performance which has to be seen to be believed.
A top tier production.

When you meet someone who embodies their work wholly. Had the pleasure of listening to and meeting @charliemackesy . He even taught us how to draw his characters - brilliant teacher! He had lost his voice but still gave everyone time and care. If ever an author didn’t need a voice to express his compassion and kindness, it’s him 🦊 🥰

Astounding. An artist at the absolute peak of their power. Mind-bogglingly performed and choreographed. @cynthiaerivo is on another level. The staging, adaptation and direction by @kip_williams matches the talent onstage. Completely rewrites what theatre can do. ❤️😍 @draculawestend

Massive @uncannypodlive fan! Lovely to see these three again. Despite all of their success, individually and combined, they have all remained smart, kind and down-to-earth people who are always a pleasure to see. Great show! @dannyrobinswithoneb @evelynhollow @okeeffeciaran

A few years ago, I went to a poetry and music night to see my friend @ifadyelsayed (who was brilliant, naturally) and a young poet was performing @mascappeal. I can’t really describe exactly what he does but he has some kind of magnetic talent which you can’t look away from. We’ve followed each other on IG since and chatted but tonight I got to see him do his stuff in Dracula. And, if anything, he’s even better (how?) than when I first saw him. So proud. Incredible performance. I don’t know what star quality is, but he has it in boatloads.

And thanks to @jae.only for the photo, who is also phenomenal in this show. He does a monologue in the second act that is just astoundingly moving. Proper talent.

Thankful for knowing Azu this year and getting to know him even better. Thanks for playing Plastic Life and Lagos my alltime favourite. I know the weight of sadness that song carries - it’s beautiful.
