What’s the future and why is it worth sacrificing everything?There’s 3 parts:

1.  Create a new medium of self expression (Mitu’s favorite part)

When consumers finally get tools to do cool things, they inevitably do. Look at the web and the blogosphere. Smartphones let social media take over. Remixing Reality will become a new way for average people to express themselves in their own unique way. This is powerful and worth risking everything for. (The attached video was made by my 75 year old dad in minutes. 75 years old! It’s amazing that I gave him that power.)

2. Help make an industry finally be successful (To help my friends out)

Large corps have spent billions to help bring #AugmentedReality, #MixedReality, #SpatialComputing to the masses. So far, most failed because none of them empowered consumers (with the exception of Snap Inc.’s Lenses). Most built tools for professionals, hoping they would make enough content to force a tipping point. However, only consumers creating for themselves and their friends can do that. I’m the first giving a real go at that goal and from early feedback, I’m on the path to succeeding. If so, I can help save an industry and all my friends working in it.

3. Bring about a new ecosystem built to support this new consumer tool (To help partners grow new businesses)

Much like new businesses now support the creator economy, a new ecosystem will be built to support those that master this new medium. I don’t know what that ecosystem looks like in its entirety. However, I do know that a new ecosystem will be built up and people will be able to make a living supporting my users. This is why I’ve built Remixing Reality to be modular: to easily allow outside plugins when the time is right. This is also why New York City Economic Development Corporation and others chose me for the Game Design Future Lab, hoping those partner biz’s will join me in NYC.

The app is In Review with Apple. iPhone users will be able to start creating with it soon. I can’t wait to see what you make!

A few weeks ago my buddy Tom Ortega w/ @remixingrealitysystem connected me to my now buddy Darshil Patel on some webAR troubleshooting. Jacob Delottand I were hitting a wall @sneakarshoeco with image mapping and Darsh had just boosted a cool app he made.

Well… yall know I don’t do half-measures, so what did we do ?

Up until now, #Tide (#ProctorGamble) has tried to capture your emotions with colors, logos and even a broadcasted ping pong game. All passive things you watch, but don’t actually engage in. Now, imagine Tide helping kids learn to put away laundry.

Up until now, #Airbnb has captured your emotions through design. Their founder #BrianChesky talks about how success is making a customer fall in love with your product. Have you ever been to an Airbnb and have no idea where anything is in the kitchen? Imagine how much guests will love knowing where everything is in the kitchen.

Watch the video below to see how our #RemixingReality System allows these brands (or any brand) to do just that. Same #AR experience, but different use cases and thus different brands. Other use cases could be tools in a repair shop, books in a library, supplies in an office, etc. What use cases can you think of? Drop them in the comments.
