I hadn't spokenTo him for probably 30 years and he was so sweet and thoughtful! FYI: the fire truck is a giant TOY firetruck made of plastic, the top of the marble cube is pepto bismal, the glass table top and objects are ONE piece of glass , the horse and pedestal are a single object carved from one piece of granite. If in LA this is a rare opportunity to see old and new works by one of the greatest masters of sculpture. Do not miss!

The new LACMA building is a marvel. I found the curatorial maze not engaging but I get the perspective. The contemporary and modern works look crowded in the BCAM that now looks kinda grimey. I think it would be nice if LACMA interspersedsome of these works in the new building. I went in thinking I would get the big kind of rush that one gets after visiting the MOMA in New York but the reality is that The LACMA holdings can'tcompare. BUT the building is a thrill. Go see!
