First of all, a belated congratulations to our reigning Supermonster, @asiaconsent! You are a star and deserve every good thing that comes your way! And @jamesmajesty, you are a force of an artist and seeing you on tv again was a total joy. Both of you are so talented and have made Portland very proud!! 👏
This post is complicated to write- it’s part celebration, but I also need to address something troubling me. I want to emphasize, I hold ZERO hard feelings toward Asia or Majesty, this is a critique of the producers of @bouletbrothersdragula.
To the point- I made these looks. As the show aired, I learned it’s in the contestants’ contracts that they CANNOT credit or tag the designers in their posts. This is to create the illusion that they make everything themselves on the show.
While Asia deserves an Emmy for this moment, is the audience really convinced?
I felt so lucky working with the first Portland contestants on a drag show, creating FIVE complete looks for one season. For those unfamiliar with the turnaround to get ready for these shows, that’s a crazy amount of work (and I’m proud to have pulled it off)
For a show that prides itself on being punk, this is phony as fuck and damaging to independent designers just trying to survive. What’s the harm in acknowledging that drag artists sometimes work with designers? And what’s more punk than two queer artists in community together collaborating on subversive drag looks?
I am self-taught and began making costumes six years ago when I started doing drag, before this I was a line cook. I am a disabled/sick person (MS) and operate as a one-person show, mostly out of my bedroom. Also, making a living as an artist is hard 🙃 I don’t seek pity; just giving context for how significant every opportunity is to me and how hard I’ve hustled.
Intentional obscuring of my labor is exploitative and wrong. It is harmful to me, my career, and wellbeing.
I wish I could’ve celebrated alongside Asia, Majesty, and all of Portland during the finale. If you’re currently auditioning for Dragula, I’ll hold off on collaborating until after filming wraps up and choose work where my art will get the credit it deserves.

Loved creating this look for last week’s @burlinomicon and allowed myself to play with some of my biggest inspirations of Bauhaus Ballet, Mummenschanz, & @muffinheadtv . The show was so fabulous and it was such a treat working with everyone involved, thank you for the invitation to get dark and decadent 🖤🤍

My look from Henson ✌️put on by @agoodsis this past Wednesday, this show was such a blast!! I’ve always considered myself a sort of glamour muppet so I was over the moon when I was asked to be a part of it. I had so much fun creating this blue worm from the Labryrinth (if he was a showgirl) look, and had to bring it out into the daylight to show all the sparkle ✨

Happy birthday to me, I’m 40 ✨
Thank you to the incredible @seekaxiom for this vanity photoshoot, you were so fun to work with and I’ve never looked so good 🤍
Hitting this landmark age, I’ve been reflecting on how far I’ve come in recent years. I started as a bedroom queen in my mid 30s and really had no clue how to sew. Last year, I moved to New York and started a chapter I once only imagined from a distance. I’ve been working with @caseyyalater since May, and have assisted on so many cool projects already. I’m proud of the work we do in the studio and excited about how much I’ve learned. I’ve also had the chance to work with several artists in drag and nightlife I’ve long admired, and am feeling truly welcomed by the community here.
I didn’t start to fully understand who I was until a few years ago, and it’s taken even longer to believe I deserve this life. Like many queer people, I didn’t always assume I’d get to grow older — or grow into myself like this. It hasn’t come without sacrifice, but I’m feeling so much gratitude and pride for what I’ve built for myself. Looking forward to more surprises ahead 💋

Family update 💗💗💗
My heart is very full because I have officially adopted @smash_the.king into my drag family!! He recently made the move to New York with partner @its.aqua.flora —now my beloved drag daughter-in-law—and I honestly couldn’t feel more grateful or proud. Watching these two incredible young artists thrive, support each other, and bloom into their own power is such a gift.
Smash is sweet, caring, outrageously twisted, endlessly inventive, and a maximalist in the best possible way. Aqua is radiant magic and love incarnate. I’m beyond honored to call them family and so excited to grow, dream, and create together ✨️✨️✨️
Pics from Aqua's birthday the other night at the @bartschland toy drive and an impromptu party bus moment we couldn't pass up. Here's to all the future adventures we'll get to experience together in this beautiful city 🥂
