In 2003, I picked up @solarosamusic's album, Haunted Out Takes and it helped reshape what I thought of local beatmakers. Every album since has been on my decks, in my headphones, woven into the soundtrack of two decades.

Somewhere along the way, the support became a collaboration. I've had the honour of designing his last four album covers — In Spaces EP, Chasing the Sun, New Tomorrows (in collaboration with @askewone), and the latest, In The Mids. In Spaces EP took home Best Album Cover at the @aotearoamusicawards, and New Tomorrows is nominated for the same award — winner announced next Thursday 28 May. 🤞

This Friday 22 May, I get to step up as DJ support on the In The Mids tour at Double @whammy, Auckland. 23 years of being a fan, four album covers, and now sharing a stage. It doesn't get much better.
