A speedy clip… for the limited time left to catch the final day of Everyday Rituals, warmly hosted at Bookshop by Uro 11am-3pm.
🎬 Shown here is the kiln loading and unloading of a portion of the Everyday Rituals collection. The firing process takes around 3 days in total. Energy is used as sparingly as possible, through careful single firing (compared to the customary two) and packing tightly to capacity.
Everyday Rituals is a four-piece capsule collection made in collaboration between Dutoit Studio and Nattier Ceramics, presented as an exhibition at Bookshop by Uro as part of Melbourne Design Week 14–24 May. Handmade in Melbourne from Limoges porcelain, the collection is composed of a cup, saucer, tray and carafe. The pieces explore how considered design shapes daily routines and transforms simple, mundane gestures into acts of reflection and care. The complete collection is available in store and online.

Everyday Rituals | Thank you to Natalie for the care, patience and skill she brought to this collaboration, and to Bookshop by Uro for so generously hosting the exhibition during Melbourne Design Week.
This project has been a quiet and considered one to bring together, and it has been lovely to see the pieces in conversation with the quotes, books, bookstore and people around them.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the discussion last Friday or visited over the weekend. If you haven’t already, head over to Collingwood Yards to catch the last few days.

Everyday Rituals brings together Dutoit, Nattier Ceramics and Bookshop by Uro to explore the intersection of design, making and daily ritual.
The exhibition presents a new series of Limoges porcelain objects - a cup, small dish, tray and carafe - designed by Dutoit and crafted by Nattier Ceramics in Naarm, Melbourne. Each piece is designed with a quiet versatility, allowing function to evolve through use and routine, and is presented alongside a reading list curated by Uro to echo the exhibition’s themes.
