Like moths in the dark, we met Dockett on a winters night in Berlin. Drawn by a light we were craving for, our paths naturally crossed and bounded. The encounter happened at a pivotal moment, towards the start of our label’s journey. Since then, Dockett has continually collaborated with us to create our graphic identity, giving shape to everything you see. Now and then, he also sent us some music… Eerie and austere at first, yet revealing a strange beauty when listened to closely, his sound was steeped in darkness, melancholy, and a quiet tension.

Four of these pieces surface here, pressed into the third Tunnel record, ‘Mothlight’.

The last Sunday before Christmas, a perfect way to see into the festive celebrations in an environment that seems closer to home than it should be… We’ve invited some local favourites for this one, Richard, Bunney and Dockett Eddy seal the bill here, rounding off a run of parties for 25’ after what has been a pretty incredible year for us as MOZE.

Owing its name very literally to the ancient tree that adorns the space, The Beech as the festival’s primary dance floor was designed with the intention of feeling equally as enticing, welcoming, and, comfortable during both daytime and night.

Newly established studio @tne.two (by @docketteddy & @easby.keating ) expertly designed and fabricated the perfect structure to bring the space to life.

Taking inspiration from agricultural buildings with a vernacular approach, the modular structure features an open sided design providing shelter whilst keeping users connected to their surroundings. Fibreglass tiles filter dappled light from above, offering a softened, alternative view of reality. As day turns to night, attention shifts inward: the booth’s warm, internal glow becomes the focal point, its translucent roof creating a sense of intimacy and enclosure.

This sense of intimacy and enclosure was captured, and magnified, by the spectral lighting design of @irieye.i creating a hazy canopy of colour and texture above head as darkness fell.

After a three year hiatus we are returning for our second release, this time by close friend of the label Dockett Eddy.

Moving through fresh yet familiar combinations of drum patterns and melodies, his first solo EP displays the beginnings of a unique, honed style.

Calling on a varied palette of reference from the last 30 years of electronic music, the atmosphere of the release is established somewhere between the skipping, dream-like rhythms of ’00:04’ and the rough, driving drums of ‘Delayed Response’. The gritty awkwardness of the title track, Monofly, builds to an unexpected, ethereal moment, in what is the worthy climax of all four tracks.
The record sets an ominous tone, consolidating itself as a recognisable contribution to the label’s evolving output, but at the same time demonstrating a sound which is entirely the producers own.
