Borgial (born in 1994 in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo) is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Paris. His practice, at the intersection of performance, video, and sculpture, explores notions of cultural syncretism and the transmission of memory.

At the core of his work, the body operates as a space of transformation and reception, traversed by narratives, forces, and imaginaries. Through performances conceived as contemporary rituals, he constructs a personal mythology nourished by Kongo culture, ancestral traditions, and Western art history.

His works incorporate artifacts, often made of wood or textile, conceived as vestige-objects carrying narratives in constant evolution. In resonance with these actions, video and installation extend and transform these experiences, opening up new interpretive spaces.

Marked by his migratory history, his practice questions cultural circulations and forms of embodied memory, in a dialogue between intimate experience and collective scope.

These workshops are conceived as an extension of the screening program 𝟲𝙥𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝟲𝙖𝙢, in which Borgial will also present a film. It expands the film into a live, collective experience.

Along the spiritual journey of Dahabiyy, this performance was about the encounter of my ancestors (embodied by @mapy64200, slide 2) and confronting my highest potential through the reflection of my alter ego @kandelissa.
