Ventana Special Projects was excited to complete the North Delta Track Fieldhouse this April.This two-storey, 3,200-square-foot, accessible facility was built utilizing repurposed shipping containers as its primary structure, along with wood and steel framing.The project features barrier free access with a vertical lift, automated doors, universal change rooms, public washrooms, a strength and conditioning space, a meeting room, and an observation deck overlooking the adjacent 8-lane track. This sustainable structure reflects Delta’s commitment to progressive design and inclusive public infrastructure.The facility is a multi-purpose space designed to support school and community use, including athletic conditioning and event viewing.

A huge thank you to the team from the @cityofdeltabcand @o4architecture for the collaborative, solutions-based approach; particularly in navigating the complexities of this building and developing tailored architectural and engineering details where standard solutions fell short.

This would not have been possible without the support of great trades on the project whose ability to pivot as needed was key to navigating the unique challenges of this project.Thank you all for your hard work and dedication.
