🎬✨ We’re honored to welcome Sarah Taborga (she/they) to QALDF 2026 — a queer Bolivian-American filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist whose work continues to create visibility, belonging, and powerful conversations within the dance community ❤️‍🔥🌈

📌 Sarah’s work explores identity, embodiment, cultural memory, and collective liberation through film. Their documentary Dear Queer Dancer aired on PBS and helped shine a light on queer and trans dancers while challenging traditional gender roles in Afro-Latin dance.

🎥 Beyond filmmaking, Sarah also founded the Queer Dance Film Festival in Oakland, creating a platform for LGBTQ+ dancers and dance filmmakers from around the world to share their stories on screen 💜

🦄 This year, Sarah will be joining us during our competition weekend to introduce their film and share a few words with our community 🙌

📍 At QALDF, we believe dance is for everybody. Every story matters. Every body matters. Every identity deserves space to be seen, celebrated, and uplifted ❤️

🙏 We hope this inspires more dancers to take a chance on themselves, step into the spotlight, and tell their stories through movement.

It was ✨such✨ an honor to photograph the Healing to the People Summit with the incredible folks at Freedom Community Clinic @freedomcommunityclinic

Over the summit weekend, I witnessed BIPOC healers, artists, organizers, and community leaders come together in the shared vision of Whole-Person Healing ❤️‍🔥 Not in a bypass-y or performative way. But in the potent way when healing is centered in culture, ancestry, and grassroots organizing.

Deep gratitude to Freedom Community Clinic for leading with heart, vision, and radical care! yall have me for whatever’s next 🌱
