I've been testing the Pulsar Audio Smasher compressor for a few days now.
It's an 1176 compressor with the 'all-buttons-in' mode that delivers very explosive compression.

The @pulsarplugins Smasher has quickly become my go to compressor especially for room mics and parallel compression. Pretty straight forward with three knobs and all buttons in all the time 1176 compression for immediate grit and punch on the drums. Love it!

Make your vocals sit in the mix

What I like about it is how it glues things together without sounding over-compressed. It smooths the vocal, keeps it controlled, and adds that subtle tone you get from vari-mu style compression.

Solid when vocals are sitting right in level but still feel disconnected from the mix.

What stands out is how easy it is to add weight and top end without losing control. The low end feels bigger without mud, and the Air band adds brightness while the built-in de-esser helps keep it smooth.

Good option when a mix needs thump, shine, and balance in one plugin.
