Hi! An intro post! I’m Babs! I’m a non-binary (they/them) art model and cartoonist living in DC! Here are some other things about me!

- Babs is a nickname for Mathew bc when my siblings were babies they pronounced my name as Baboo
- My last name is New, that’s why I go my @newDmodel everywhere
- I love being naked (obviously) but also love wearing cute outfits! Being naked is just another of my cute outfits imo
- I’m a cartoonist! Besides the comics about body issues I post here, I also have a published all-ages graphic novel called Billy Johnson and His Duck Are Explorers! Hopefully I’ll find the time to start doing comics more often again soon
- Art modeling isn’t my only job, I also work at a library! I teach sewing, 3D printing, laser cutting, all sorts of stuff in the Labs at the MLK Library!
- I LOVE painting my nails, I almost never have them not painted 💅🏻
- I love being an uncle! Sometimes if I suddenly think about my niece I’ll tear up bc how much I love her lol ❤️
- I love my little friend Gumshoe! Some of you have probably met him before, he occasionally models with me online
- Some other things I love: Crocheting little animals, Nintendo, Pokémon, Sanrio (in particular Hangyodon and Keroppi), superhero comics and non-superhero comics, Charlie Brown and Snoopy, frogs, and ducks

Join Babs New and Steenz for an introduction to figure drawing! Learn more about gesture drawing, line of action, and basic anatomical form before practicing with a live model. No drawing experience is required to participate, but please bring a sketchbook if you have one! Our workshop will be from 3:30 to 4:30 on Sunday!

Please note: This workshop will have a nude model, so all participants must be 18+ to join.
