I met Tinker and Jackie Hatfield in 1988 and invited them for dinner at home. After that I thought we were friends and eventually we had good friends with Casey H & Justin Chioti. I used to hang out with the Hatfield family and liked being with them. Jackie was always kind and thoughtful and it seemed she enjoyed with Lori and me. We went to Justin and Casey wedding and asked from the Hatfields. I looked up to Tinker and thought about as a friend. Tinker is a great designer and mentor. I didn’t know he absolutely hated me?! Lori never liked Tinker because he was always arrogant, above everyone, and had the family to worship Tinker. It was weird.

I ‘chose’ to work with Nike the second time after I left in 1993 the first time. Being an independent designer for 7 year was, and is, difficult and brain draining. Why? Sometime I was designing for multiple companies at the same time. Empathy and understanding is very difficult and I wanted to do our best and make more money helped each company to continue to work with me. Working with Nike alone was much easier because I understood and loved Nike and sport. I didn’t know Nike rehired me in order to ‘cuff my hands’ to stop making products around 2000. I was naive. I believed in Nike. Sport itself is one of the best parts about America and tried to do everything I could do to help our team at Nike. I did help Nike and I know it and worked with phenomenal people.

Canyoneering is so fun! This was a hard day almost 14 hours and many wild rappels.
.
I’ve never talked or seen any of Tinker and the Hatfield’s after my devastating stroke. I was erased from the company and many “friends”.

Lori, Pema and me climbed, hiked and camped for a few days in the Uinta mountains. It was fantastic, hard hiking and climbing and dozens of lakes swimming in very cold water. It was awesome! Mosquitoes were not fun but not too bad.
Pema meets a deer 🦌 and Pema didn’t bark at all. She was mesmerized from seeing the first wild deer.
My leg was involuntarily spasms after hiking 8 miles with a heavy pack. Funny and interesting?!

I painted this from a famous photo when I was 16 years old 18”x 12” India ink and diluted with water to make them sepia. With ink we only have one shot and no erasing so I had to learn a lot about planning and painting with confidence.
I was (and is) like Murphies Law- “If it’s possible to screw up then it will.” I made lots of mistakes. 😊

Nike Free Trail 5.0 Mid Knit. I designed the bottom tooling and Ben Shafer designed the upper. The second frame is more weird music from me hiking the shoes. Also, i fell hard and ended up in the bottom of a deep pond. Falling in not fun as a geezer. No broken bones this time. Gratitude and still fun. Go play!!!

Good factual information you probably won’t see. Please look thru and get better perspective what is happening now. We Americans can be the good but currently we’re the opposite. Today we are owned from Isr@el. This is bad. Conversations, dialogue and real communication is better.
