Nice to imagine a copy of this stuffed down the side of someone’s armchair for months before ending its life lining a hamster cage.

Big Boys is officially a nominee for the BAFTA most memorable moment in TV award for the Season 3, Episode 6 scene: ‘I didn’t make it, did I?’

🥹 this is my proudest nomination for big boys, to have that finale scene with my boyo @jonpointing nominated for BAFTA memorable moment is the biggest honour.

that scene was all I’d wanted to say for a decade about losing someone to suicide and trying to reckon with the injustice of it in some sort of optimistic and comedic way. It was the first thing I wrote for the last series, draft one of the scene started at 15 pages long haha, it scared the shit out of everyone, but it just began as a huge letter that poured out of me after 10 years & by sending it to Jim Archer + Bertie Peek + Katy Wix + Jon and sharing those thoughts with people I trusted, it helped us all craft an episode + an opening scene i hope never felt too schmaltzy or indulgent but was always rooted in giving those left behind after a suicide some semblance of hope. And we always wanted it first and foremost to be as funny as possible.

That collaborative process and the day we had on set filming that moment with the best tv crew ever, will always be my proudest day on Big Boys. And Jon’s performance was astounding + made me feel less scared about being on screen. He made talking to a friend feel
like talking to a friend 💕

so thank you @bafta!! It’s a public vote, the celeb traitors will win and Alan Carr’s final moment made me BAWL so I suppose there is catharsis in everything if you think about it!! 🤪 but bung us a vote if you can be arsed 🫶🫶🫶
