Copenhagen Jazz Festival er verdens største udstillingsvindue for dansk jazz - og dette års udgave er ingen undtagelse! ✨

Oplev bl.a. sidste års DMA-vindere Ida Duelund (årets jazzkomponist), AC (årets musiker), Jakob Dinesen (årets jazzudgivelse), ØKSE (årets alternative jazzudgivelse), MUSVIT (årets nye jazznavn) + en eksklusiv liveudgave af det prisbelønnede værk "Sacrum Facere: Marches Rewound and Rewritten" skabt af Maria Faust. Årets festival byder også på danske residencies med bands som Girls in Airports, Rumpistol og Bremer/McCoy samt koncerter med albumaktuelle kunstnere som Viktoria Søndergaard (foto), Abekejser, Gustaf Ljunggren og Veronika Rud.

RIP Stig Møller (1945-2026) - Danish singer/songwriter and co-founder of the cult band Steppeulvene who only released one (groundbreaking) album; "Hip" from 1967.

Late happy birthday to Janet Jackson who turned 60 yesterday. Earlier this year, Jackson could celebrate the 40th anniversary of her groundbreaking third studio album, "Control" which was released in 1986.
At just 19 years old, Jackson used the album to break free from her family's oversight and assert personal independence, influencing a whole generation of pop artists. Her collaborations with the songwriters and record producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis resulted in an unconventional sound: a fusion of rhythm and blues, rap vocals, funk, disco, and synthesized percussion that established Jackson, Jam, and Lewis as leading innovators of contemporary R&B. 
Janet Jackson became the first female artist to have five top-five hits from one album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart - and "Control" also set a record for the longest continuous run of charting singles on the Hot 100, with 65 consecutive weeks.
