UPDATE: the code is now at https://chat-card.incomputable.io/
I couldn’t wait to share this incredible demo from @chicoe, using code from @chris.johnson074 - the USB keyboard is controlling a speech synthesis program card. The Workshop Computer is a tiny hackable audio computer than can make sounds, effects and connect to things with USB.

Bone Whisper (2026)

Bone Whisper is an interactive haptic piece that explores vibration as a form of perception and communication, developed especially for the Madrid Design Festival. Through a stone that transmits vibration via bone conduction, the work invites listening through the body: hands, chest, and head. The experience shifts depending on how and where it is held, activating a more situated and embodied perception. The project stems from an interest in developing a haptic vocabulary — a way to name, describe, and potentially communicate sensations through vibration. This work marks the beginning of a new series I started in 2026, focused on vibration, touch, and the body as a space of knowledge. It is a work in progress within my ongoing research in haptic aesthetics.

Special thanks to @chicoe Francisco Estivallet for making this idea possible and for co-creating and coding the piece with me, and to Madrid Design Festival and IE University for supporting and enabling this new body of work.

____________

TouchDesigner and LED workshops at the Institut del Teatre, Barcelona, with Francisco Estivallet @chicoe

This was not about learning software for its own sake. We treated light and code as performers, able to build tension, pause, interrupt, and shape the rhythm of a scene.

A big part of the process focused on concept and storytelling. Before opening @touchdesigner , students worked on intention and narrative. Technology came later, as a way to support a story rather than lead it.

From zero to small installations in just a few days, the focus stayed on behaviours, systems, timing, and how media behaves in space and time.

Thanks to Marc Villanueva Mir @villanuevamir, Xesca Salva @xescasalvacerda and the @postgrau_escena_tecnologia students for the trust and curiosity.

Over the last few weeks, together with Francisco Estivallet @chicoe we ran @touchdesigner and LED workshops for postgraduate students at the Institut del Teatre Barcelona, as part of the Programme Escenificació i Tecnologia Digital @postgrau_escena_tecnologia

This was not a technical tutorial.

We approached light and code dramaturgically. LEDs and TouchDesigner were treated as performers, able to build tension, pause, interrupt, respond, and shape the emotional rhythm of a scene.

A big part of the workshop focused on concept and storytelling. Before touching the software, students worked on defining an intention and a narrative. Technology came later, as a way to support the story rather than lead it.

We focused on shaping
behaviours rather than effects
systems rather than presets
timing and tension rather than decoration

Starting from zero, students moved from first principles to building their own small installations. What mattered most was not polish, but clarity of idea and how media behaves in space and time.

Working inside the Institut del Teatre, one of Europe’s oldest performing arts institutions, made this process especially meaningful. It showed how hands on, interdisciplinary approaches can open new ways of thinking about scenography, performance, and digital media.

Huge thanks to Marc Villanueva Mir @villanuevamir and Xesca Salva @xescasalvacerda for the trust, and to the students for their focus, curiosity, and willingness to experiment.
