Seattle Opera hosted what appears to be the first official Furry Night at the Opera during a performance of Carmen, complete with fursuits, opera binoculars, rolling luggage full of tails, and a mock bullfight in the lobby.⁠

In an impassioned declaration of love—or rather, obsession—Don José (@ryancapozzo) fervently professes that while imprisoned, he had "only one desire, one hope" to see Carmen again in the Flower Aria (La fleur que tu m'avais jetée).

Soprano @kathleenomarasoprano performs Micaëla's breathtaking aria, "Je dis que rien m'epouvante" from our production of Carmen, where she both admires and fears Carmen's bravery, and tries to summon her own courage.

Next Wednesday, May 13 is Pay What You Wish at Carmen 🌹

Tickets will be made available on the day of the show, and can be purchased online or at the Opera Center starting at 2:30 PM, and at the the McCaw Hall box office starting at 6:00 PM.

You can purchase up to 4 tickets per household at your chosen price level for that evening's performance. The suggested price is $35, with a minimum of $10 per ticket.
