MIT Men’s Fencing went 5-0, defeating Division I schools Boston College and Sacred Heart, and Division III schools Brandeis, Vassar College, and Wheaton to become Northeast Fencing Conference champions ‼️
In addition, the MIT women’s sabre squad went 7-1, becoming the top women’s sabre squad at NFC 2026 ‼️

A NEW ERA 🤺
After serving as interm coach for a portion of the 2025-26 season, Arpad Horvath has been elevated to head coach of the men's and women's fencing programs at MIT.
Previously the epee coach at MIT from 2010-2012, Horvath was named the program's interim head coach in September 2025 while Koniusz was on sabbatical. Upon Koniusz's return in January 2026, Horvath remained on the coaching staff as an assistant coach during the spring. He will now guide the program forward as its head coach.
"This is a special place with tremendous potential, and I'm honored to be named the next head coach," said Horvath. "My focus will always be on developing our student-athletes, helping them grow as competitors and students while engineering some victories and building toward championships."

Hannah Tao, Priscilla Leang, Victoria Fang, and Sandra Luo of the No. 4 women’s fencing team received Division III All-America honors from the USFCA. This was the fourth year in a row the Engineers collected four All-America awards.
Tao earned her second consecutive Sabre All-America First Team award while Leang was placed on the Epee All-America Second Team, adding to her First Team nod from last season. First-time honorees, Fang was a Sabre All-America Honorable Mention selection and Luo was named to the Foil All-America Honorable Mention Team. #rolltech
