Police in Eleuthera are investigating the discovery of a man's body found unresponsive and floating in the water near a business establishment on a beach in North Eleuthera. Medical personnel responded to the scene and confirmed that he showed no vital signs of life.

According to health officials at the Ministry of Health and Wellness the two passenger that were being monitored in isolation at Lynden Pindling International Airport have been moved to the Modular Unit at the Princess Margaret Hospital. Officials remind the public that there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in the country.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a business establishment at the intersection of Blue Hill and Carmichael Roads on Saturday, 23rd May 2026.
According to preliminary reports, shortly after 6:00 a.m., an unidentified male suspect, armed with a firearm and dressed entirely in black, approached the business running from the direction of Lobster Avenue with his hands in a hooded jacket. The suspect was reportedly wearing blue gloves and a mask.
Upon entering the establishment, the suspect confronted the cashier and handed her a pouch, demanding that she place the cash inside. The cashier complied, and the suspect made good his escape from the scene with approximately $645 in cash.
The suspect then fled eastbound toward Lobster Avenue, the same direction from which he came.

Police in Bimini are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, 23rd May 2026, at a business establishment on King’s Highway, North Bimini, which left an eight-year-old boy seriously injured.
According to the initial report, shortly after 9:00 p.m., police received information from medical personnel at the Bimini Community Clinic that a young male child had been brought in with apparent gunshot wounds above the left eyebrow and to the left rear of the head. Police assistance was requested.
Officers responded to the clinic, where the attending physician advised that the child’s injuries were serious and arrangements were being made to airlift him for further medical treatment.
Shortly after 12:00 a.m., the child was airlifted from North Bimini to Fort Lauderdale for urgent medical care. His condition remains unknown at this time.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and his twelve-year-old brother were inside a hotel room when the incident occurred. The twelve-year-old was later handed over to the police by his uncle and was subsequently arrested and cautioned in connection with the matter.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear and remain under active investigation. As a result, a team of officers from Grand Bahama has been dispatched to assist with ongoing inquiries.

Police arrested a 43 year old woman for failing to declare more than $73,000 while traveling through the Lynden Pindling International Airport.

Officials at the Ministry of Health and Wellness have provided an update on the status of two men who were under surveillance for the Ebola Virus symptoms at LPIA. Currently, the men do not present with any symptoms of the Ebola Virus Disease.

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, 22nd May 2026, which resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man.
According to preliminary reports, shortly before 7:45 p.m., ShotSpotter Technology alerted police to gunshots in the vicinity of a public school on Collins Avenue. Around the same time, police also received an anonymous call reporting that a male had been shot on the school grounds and requesting immediate assistance.
Officers responded swiftly to the scene and discovered an unresponsive male suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his upper torso. Emergency Medical Services personnel visited the location, examined the victim, and confirmed that he showed no signs of life.
The initial investigation revealed that the victim had gone to a soccer field adjacent to the school to purchase a cellular phone advertised online. While at the location, he was allegedly approached by an unknown male who opened fire, discharging several shots in his direction. In an apparent attempt to escape, the victim jumped over a wall before collapsing on the school property.
The suspect reportedly fled the area in a blue Suzuki Swift, licence plate unknown, travelling north along Collins Avenue.
The investigation continues.
