Get to know the artists behind Kinship: The Perspective of Place and Experience 🌿✨

Through printmaking, painting, and fiber art, Karina and Yasmin Ramirez explore how the spaces we move through, both familiar and unknown, shape our identity, memory, and sense of belonging. Their work reflects on the connections between people, nature, and culture, creating a shared dialogue across borders and experiences.

Karina, a mixed-media artist, uses color and composition to express emotion and place, while Yasmin, a multidisciplinary artist, draws from landscapes shaped by memory and environment. Together, their work invites viewers to reflect on their own relationships to place and community.

My composition was created using two photographs that I took and merged two locations. This print used techniques of etching and aquatint also I hand dyed mulberry paper to create color.
