Le tarbouch est pour les hommes. La broderie est pour les femmes. Et si je mélangeais les deux?

Tarboush avec broderie. Huile sure toile.

Yes there are different forms of protests, but sometimes a middle finger will do.
I find it difficult to relate to artworks that do challenge the status quo on one way or another.

Red is for protest. Acrylique sur toile.2026

Your voice is a revolution. The power of the people is greater than the people in power. If only you knew.

War machine vs. humanity, oil on canvas,2026.

I was going through works by Iranian photographer Abbas, his works are astonishing and force you to pause. One image of a mother and a child reminded me of the incident of Muhammad Durra-Intifada 2001. History repeats itself; weapons vs humanity.

As Palestinians, we are as born into a world where home isn’t accessible. I’ve learned to redefine home as a travelling sense of belongings, and carry it instead—like a travelling bag filled with traditions, recipes, herbs, embroideries, and memories.

I carry with me my grandmother's thoub, Handala, the legacy of a Palestinian. I carry with me the paintings I grew up seeing, paintings by Ismael Shamout and @sliman.mansour.

I carry with me Zaatar and sage. I carry with me the memories of witnessing funerals of Palestinian and Iraqi Martyres on the news.

And I pass on this human experience.
