On November 18, 2016, a few weeks after my 16th birthday, I gave my life to Christ. Back then, I didn't grasp the depth of scriptures or the gospel, I was driven by a fear of hell. Over the years, I listened to preachers, doctrines and adopted Christian-like habits, but I wasn’t always connected to God.
As time passed, I continuously shed misconceptions and embraced the genuine essence of the gospel. Today, September 17, 2023, I stand firm in the truth that Jesus Christ is my Lord. I make this public declaration of faith, embracing His abounding grace and love. This is my journey to eternity with Christ❤️
Blessed to have a Godly community like @capitalcity.cop

Understanding the character of God changes how we see and understand the context of scriptures.

Good morning 🌞
Thank you Nana Yaa for sharing your testimony. This serves as a reminder that God will always meet us where we are, and our strength comes from his grace. The same God who was with us yesterday, is the same today and forever. He continually saturates us with his fullness. I hope this encourages you.
You already know, tomorrow is the DAY, we can’t wait for Back To You 2023! ✨

God is sovereign.
Romans 11:36
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”
When I started college some people said:
-“I will never be proud of you choose nursing. I’ll talk to your dad to convince you to pursue medicine”
-“Nursing.. I started and didn’t finish, but good luck”
-And my fav from a classmate. “Yaa is not organized/ good enough to be pharmacology peer tutor.”
Ok. what that gotta do with me tho?
After @austin.staj convinced me not to transfer out of uva 2nd year, I got a degree as a first generation college student. I believe that it is God’s providence that these 4 years happened the way that it did.
From crying otp with@sarkodiey @quobby_sarkodie or dad, to the laughter and convos with @as.alwaysm, to being on zoom with Dean Bassett (my 2nd mom) to bake a her pound cake, to skipping part of class to go to OAS or Lynn’s office because I was.. BORED, to going to OAAA, to accidentally cooking for the whole school and sharing, to The Hillside gatherings, to Yahweh Night “study sessions” that turned into a roast about Ghanaian men, to the therapy sessions, to ALL OF MEETINGS and to finally realizing during 2nd year that trying to achieve a high GPA didn’t matter.
Other impactful moments such as going to Professor Cleckley or Dr. Dowling office hours. The professors along with Dean B who believed in me and in the made me realize the impact of my voice in a room.
The most rewarding thing has been the meaningful connections I’ve made with people and the endless conversations I have had them in various spaces that has transformed my perspective on life.
David Foster Wallace said it best:
“It is about the real value of a real education, which has almost nothing to do with knowledge, and everything to do with simple awareness; awareness of what is so real and essential, so hidden in plain sight all around us, all the time, that we have to keep reminding ourselves over and over:
“This is water”
