spent some time with Rachel at @puppy.studio.la a couple weeks ago! been reaching out to artists here in LA (musicians, textile, tattoo…) to shoot while they work, get some portraits, grab texture of their creative space…this time around I also came out with a sweet new friend🥹 between gabbing about being from Texas to sharing our high and lows of navigating the freelance world - it felt like talking to an old friend. her style and approach tattooing is so fresh - and it’s not even the only thing she does. outside of the studio she’s also a creative director, pulling together campaigns and visions for her clients…she does it all

as I gain my footing in a new place, film has really proven to be my safe place to play. shooting concepts and narrative driven ideas are my jam - but environmental, “in process” portraits and images have always been my other love - wether it be in a recording studio or any other kind of studio. im so grateful for the artist’s ive met and shot for so far here🙏

spent some time with Rachel at @puppy.studio.la a couple weeks ago! been reaching out to artists here in LA (musicians, textile, tattoo…) to shoot while they work, get some portraits, grab texture of their creative space…this time around I also came out with a sweet new friend🥹 between gabbing about being from Texas to sharing our high and lows of navigating the freelance world - it felt like talking to an old friend. her style and approach tattooing is so fresh - and it’s not even the only thing she does. outside of the studio she’s also a creative director, pulling together campaigns and visions for her clients…she does it all

as I gain my footing in a new place, film has really proven to be my safe place to play. shooting concepts and narrative driven ideas are my jam - but environmental, “in process” portraits and images have always been my other love - wether it be in a recording studio or any other kind of studio. im so grateful for the artist’s ive met and shot for so far here🙏

with portraits i love my moody corners, the spotted, layered light...the drammma. but being in a new place I wanted to stretch my comfort zone - apply what has become my style over time, and test it in the opposite direction - flip it on its head🤞one focal length, right in the sun, keeping things soft(er…ish)…
