This trip to Black Canyon Arizona was not just about a race. It was about creating opportunities, connections and making new friendships. I can surely tell you that i am fulfilled.

The feeling during the race was incredible, i am so proud and grateful for all the work i’ve put for that training block and where my fitness is right now. Sure the end of the race was disapointing in terms of output effort i was able to give, i loose at least 15 spot and probably 15min too but it didnt bother me cause i know the fitness was there, i did a mistake and now i grew up from that mistake.

UTHC 42 St-Simeon 🏁 6th in 4h01 - A lot to say but i’ll spare you all the details.

The objective was to cut 20min off from my 2023 race which brings us to 4h flat. That time was always a top 2 finish on that race since its creation back in 2019.

I am pretty proud of what i was able to do on this day even if i struggled with nutrition around km 32 but managed to finish strong after taking care of some business and mostly because that i didnt even run a single 42km race since 2 full years due to injury even in training.

Ranking wise, sure i am a bit disapointed but after looking back at all the work i’ve done, i was able to acheived my objective without any pain and thats a win!

Stoked for that race season in the bag!

We started the race really fast with the first km in 3min38! I was able to keep the effort really high, averaging 184bpm for the entire race. The heat was brutal but i managed to keep pushing without feeling any dizziness.

Finishing less than 4min behind first place shows how much the race was tight and how well my training for shorter races is going.

I am really proud of this one, really good runners were there trying to grab that win.
Definitely the most high level race of the weekend and i was happy to measure myself against them on this course.

TNF Summit Vectiv Sky 2🚀

Last week was my second sub ultra race of the season, Ultra Trail Fjord du Saguenay 20km 920m D+ and i’ve took out a fresh pair of the new and redesigned Summit Vectic Sky 2 from @thenorthface_trail for my race and im speechless🤯

The 1st version was my all time favorite shoe up to 50km race. I loved it and i didnt needed to break them, they fit me well, no pressure points, ready to race. All the small things they improved from the 1st version makes them a perfect choice for going fast in technical and steep terrain. Close feel (thanks to the new DREAM foam added to the Sky line) new upper more durable, new tongue and heel cup are giving a locked in fit and those new 6mm Surface CTRL™️ lugs are so aggresive for those more technical trails.

So happy of taking that last minute decision by choosing these shoes for racing. End up 4th, 4min behind first place in 1h44min🔥

We started really fast, hit the first climb at an honest pace but not crazy suicidal pace.

Even though, i wasnt able to breath correctly in that first climb, air was so dense and humidity was hitting big time. Had to slow down and loose couple places from 8th to 13th. Then after the first climb, i was able to keep the effort high and came back up to finish the top 10, 15min from first place🏁

Overall, im happy with my performance, proud of the effort i was able to give on this day. This sport is growing, people are becoming faster and this motivates me to keep working cause at the end, im having fun! Just look at that first photo😃
