BE THE MIRROR // BREAK THE GRID

OVERBYTE exists in response to a culture that compresses human experience into something measurable, optimized, and consumable. In a world where identity is curated into grids and meaning flattened into metrics, the publication pushes back—centering the physical, emotional, and often uncomfortable reality of being alive. The title itself operates as a tension: “Byte” as data, and “Bite” as instinct, appetite, and excess. OVERBYTE explores this contradiction, examining how we consume content, aesthetics, and even ourselves in ways that leave us full, yet perpetually unsatisfied.

I intentionally resisted the hyper-polished visual language of contemporary editorial design, instead embracing an unrefined, almost abrasive aesthetic. There are original illustrations throughout the publication that extend its emotional register, giving me space to fully lean into my personal style.

I had such a blast creating this magazine for @briarlevits page layout 2 class at @psugd and I’m stoked to begin issue 02 ⚔️ But first—should I share some detail shots of the illustrations?

A chaotic little reel of the work I could actually locate — illustrations, motion graphics, design bits, happy accidents, questionable choices that somehow turned into great decisions, and a few projects I definitely blacked out while making. ✦

Man. I’ve been creating, making music, and doodling forever. And honestly? Turning inward and onto my computer screen during the pandemic accidentally launched my entire career. Wild how many different lives one life can live — how many versions of yourself you can build and rebuild along the way.

I can’t wait to see what I’ll create, where this will lead me, what comes next —
and who I’ll become in the process. ✦

Also who ever made this sound byte, it's probably my most coveted .wav that I've ever found. I dont know who you are but—thank you. I love it and I don't listen to it enough.
