I can’t believe I am typing this, but I have the incredible honor and privilege of being a member of the inaugural cohort of the @inevitablefoundation and @netflix Visionary Fellowship. I’ll be soaking up lots of mentorship, transferring my skills from the page to the director’s chair, and shooting a short film in L.A. next summer! What an incredible joy. I feel like I’m at the top of a roller coaster - all terror and excitement.
Swipe to read about the feature script that got me into the program, Happy New Fear! For more information about The Inevitable Foundation and its goals of getting writers with disabilities into Hollywood, check out the articles in Variety, Deadline, and Netflix’s press site!

People are the best part about making movies. And these people are the best thing about my movie.
Beware C*ckblocking Ghosts is a weird little short film. It’s a teen horror rom-com about toxic friendships, letting go of grief, the transformative power of love, and whether Prom Night or Carrie is the definitive high school dance horror movie.
So, when I set out to make this as my short for the Netflix x Inevitable Foundation Visionary Fellowship, I knew my biggest task would be finding a team that believed in that vision, that believed in me as a first-time director, and that would make the shoot as happy, creatively fulfilling, collaborative, and frightfully fun for all of us as I imagined.
I got that and more. Whether Marijo was executing a dizzyingly perfect focus pull, Grant was finding some way to magic my dream shot out of thin air, Julia and Reed and Ruby were delivering the most grotesque homecoming performances of all time, CJ was making it all happen as my 1st AD, or Alexandra, Max, and Monica were pulling off anything else I dreamed up, my cast and crew brought everything to Beware C*ckblocking Ghosts. It was the honor of my life to get to work with them, and I can’t wait to do it again someday.
They say that movie sets become like families. And for my first shoot, I just so happened to have the best movie family ever.
Stay tuned for more information about this project! I can’t wait to share the final product with everyone.

Romantic Comedy 🤝Horror
At the beginning of the month, I directed Beware C*ckblocking Ghosts, a hor-rom-com that I also wrote! This was made possible through the @netflix and @inevitablefoundation Visionary Fellowship, and I could not be prouder!
Thanks to @variety for shouting out my amazing cast of Julia Lester, Ruby Jay, and Reed Horstmann. They were all incredible to work with - you all are in for a bloody good time when the short premieres!
Another thanks to @dpdcasting for all of your hard work in making this magic happen!
And!! How exciting to share the fellowship with such incredible filmmakers with equally incredible casts. Check out my story to read more about the projects!

Now that’s what we call investigative journalism @thebibliophileblonde @alysmurraybooks

Instead of resolutions, I do a bingo card.
Believe it or not, I’m a very timid person. I have a hard time putting myself out there, a hard time pushing myself, and a hard time breaking out of my comfort zone. So, instead of “be braver” or whatever as a New Years Resolution, I make a bingo card for myself of things I’ve never done before or haven’t done in a long time. The bingo card is my challenge to myself to go out there and live life. This year, I got 22/25, which feels very respectable.
Thank you all for being here with me in 2025! I look forward to all the fun we’ll have in 2026 and all the memories we will make together. If you have any suggestions for a 2026 bingo square, sound off below!
