Call of My Life takes familiar romcom tropes and gives them a distinctly Nigerian flavour, building a colourful love story around heartbreak, destiny, and the messy excitement of falling for someone new.

Directed by Dammy Twitch, the story follows Soluchi (Uzoamaka Power), a hopeful call centre agent recovering from heartbreak, whose ordinary workday leads her toward an unexpected romance with Eli (Andrew Yaw Bunting), a charming TV presenter who seems destined to cross her path.

Before directing films and series, creatives like Kemi Adetiba, Kewa Oni and Dammy Twitch were shaping the visual identity of Nigerian music through music videos for some of the industry’s biggest artistes.

Over time, many of these filmmakers transitioned from short-form visual storytelling into film and television; often viewing music videos as a good creative training ground and an entry for their future ambition in longer-form storytelling.

This list also includes singers who later expanded to the film industry and filmmaking.
