Manufactured offsite. Ready to go anywhere →

@malvern_hills_cabins built this modular cabin in their own workshop using the WikiHouse system, then transported and placed it on site in a single lift.

✅ Works on sites traditional builds can’t reach
✅ Minimal disruption to your existing operation
✅ Low-carbon, low-energy by design
✅ Faster from order to guest-ready

The WikiHouse ADU is here.

Excited to collaborate with @situ_nyc on this design, now part of New York’s ADU for You platform. The WikiHouse ADU is included in the pre-approved library to help homeowners in New York turn extra space into small homes. ADU for You is an initiative by @nycmayorsoffice

“WikiHouse is a lot quicker to go together compared to traditional stick framing. In one to two days you can build the whole structure from ground screws up to the roof panels.”

For their latest project near in Devon, the @lifespacecabins team turned to WikiHouse.

Why WikiHouse?
* Faster, slicker builds
* Lightweight and strong
* Super-insulated

For Life Space, it’s about more than cabins. It’s about rethinking how people can live and stay in beautiful, sustainable places.

👉 If you run a cabin company, eco-retreat, or hospitality business, and want to offer design-led, sustainable spaces for your guests, we’d love to build with you.

Last week we were at the @be_stbuild conference in Paisley and loved showing how WikiHouse can make low-carbon, healthy, sustainable homes a reality in Scotland. Hands-on sessions with our timber cassettes, insulation, cladding, and finishes were a hit - big thanks to all our attendees for taking part!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We’re looking to connect with design & build companies across Scotland who share our passion for sustainable construction. If you want to explore new ways to design, fabricate and assemble buildings using timber our DMs are open.

Building extensions with WikiHouse

“Between 1902 and 1906 this building arrived in the back of a train. It was a prefabricated building…
As our family is expanding and we want our house to adapt…we realised actually it would be great if we were able to mirror the prefabrication in the extension…which led us to WikiHouse.”

Grateful to @may___collins and her family for letting us capture this lovely story! WikiHouse blocks cut by @dukemakes in Leeds.

WikiHouse structures are quick to assemble on site, perfect for tight access locations and ideal for low carbon, high quality extensions. If you are a business looking to use WikiHouse to build extensions we’d love to hear from you - please get in touch via the link in bio.

📍The future of housebuilding is local

WikiHouse doesn't belong to just one company - WikiHouses are manufactured by a growing network of small, local factories, like @firstcallcrew in Northampton.

This is distributed manufacturing in action: a decentralised, scalable model that empowers local businesses to lead the next wave of construction.

Interested? We are looking for design and build partners in the UK. Talk to us about joining our growing network. Link in bio.

🔥🔥Did you know WikiHouse walls and floors/roofs are now certified for fire resistance? Our latest round of testing achieved REI 90 for walls and REI 60 for floors/roofs, making WikiHouse suitable for buildings up to three storeys in height. Full technical specs available on our website.

Boring (but necessary) block library update!

We know you are waiting for Skylark v1 files, so here is a little glimpse of the work we are doing at the moment- and why it is taking so long.

As the WikiHouse library of blocks has grown, managing the modelling by hand has become very time consuming. All our modelling is done with Rhino - and we are using Grasshopper to develop a series of parametric scripts to manage block creation. This will make the workload for this (and future) releases much lighter.

The geeky bit: Every WikiHouse block is made of a repeatable pattern of geometry components, that we call “bits”. We are trying to take advantage of this to have the blocks automatically generated once the bits are specified. The challenge we face is that blocks need to be compatible with each other- they need to fit together and talk to each other. To do this we are trying to work on the right logic to make this interoperability work. This is a complex, rules-based script (see what the “backend” looks like on the left hand side) and we are grateful for your patience as we prepare this new release.

So happy to share this latest #WikiHouse community call we recorded with Lachlan @new.neighbour.nz

We first met Lachlan when he was living in Singapore, around the time we launched Skylark. He has now moved back home to New Zealand, changed careers and started a new business building WikiHouses.

Shoutout to Jen and Emily @man.and.son.design who are also part of the New Neighbour team.

The full conversation is on our YouTube channel. Link in bio.
