-NL- Op zaterdag 4 april van 10:00 tot 12:00 organiseer ik een kleding repareercafé bij @stadskwekerijdekas . Heb je thuis ook een stapel kleding liggen waar nog iets aan moet gebeuren? Misschien zit er een knoop los, een scheur in je broek, of een gaatje in je wollen trui. Tijdens het repareercafé leer je hoe je dit zelf kunt repareren, stoppen of herstellen met wat hulp van mij. Doe je mee? Er is plek voor 8 - 10 mensen. Stuur me een DM als je erbij wilt zijn. Aanmelding is gratis.

Handig om te weten:
✔️ Neem een kledingstuk mee dat je wilt repareren, bijvoorbeeld een trui, spijkerbroek of oud T-shirt.
✔️ Heb je eigen herstelmateriaal? Neem dat vooral mee. Er zijn ook extra gereedschappen en materialen aanwezig, evenals wat reststof als je gewoon reparatietechnieken wilt oefenen.

-EN- On Saturday, April 4 10:00 - 12:00, I am organising a clothing repair café at @stadskwekerijdekas . Do you have a pile of clothes at home that needs some work? Perhaps there’s a button that’s loose, a tear in your jeans, or a hole in your wool jumper. During the repair cafe you will learn how to repair, darn or mend it with some help from me. Thinking of joining? There is room for 8 - 10 people. Send me a DM if you would like to be there. Registration is free.

Good to know:
✔️ Bring a garment you want to repair, for example, a sweater, pair of jeans, or an old T-shirt.

✔️ Do you have your own repair materials? Be sure to bring them along. There are also extra tools and materials available, as well as some scrap fabric if you just want to practice repair techniques.

In November last year the Memory of the Designed Landscape installation that I co-curated opened as part of the Garden Futures exhibition at @nieuweinstituut

I have been working alongside @elinedegraaf and Ellen Smit in a three-year study of garden and landscape architecture archives in the Netherlands. Waterways, polders, forests and dunes were all created on the drawing boards of garden and landscape architects but their archives are under pressure. In the Netherlands there is no dedicated place where they can be kept. This installation showcases some of these archives and highlights their importance for our future.

During the process I got to work with @lucschraauwers filming and interviewing custodians of the archives, with Johannes Schwartz who visited 8 different locations to photograph this precious material, and with @jackbardwell who thoughtfully designed the installation itself.

You can still visit the installation and the Garden Futures exhibition until the 13th of April this year!

A few weeks ago already the fourth edition of Soundtracks of the City took place at @nieuweinstituut . I have been working on this series for a while now, researching for and organising the event, and I think this was one of my favourite editions.

Rosi Braidotti and Shay Kreuger, who I develop the program with, spoke about the end of the world and how it has been sung for decades already. Why is it that music allows us to express our desires and perceptions of the world and helps us come to face with our fears? How does it create this feeling of togetherness amongst us?
The evening was narrated through music made and practiced within the theme of the Apocalypse.
Joining our conversation was the international activist movement @extinctionrebellionnl who voiced their concern for the climate and ecological crisis, and who brought along a few tracks of their own. 💃
