Experiencing 39 years around the sun today. Just landed in Phoenix to visit my sister-in-law and meet her new baby, Juna.
Had a great TR rehearsal last week at an inspiring place, Harken Hall. We put a lot of effort and energy into it. Very grateful to have bandmates, crew, an md, and a boss who care A LOT.

Celebrating my dad’s birthday by spending a few days with him and my brother in Mexico City. When dad had his stroke five years ago, I never thought we’d be able to do a trip like this again. Very grateful to be out here with him.
It’s also a bit surreal to be here given everything happening back home. The people we’ve met have been incredibly warm, and the food has been some of the best I’ve ever had. Being here reminds me how connected we all are, despite the politics that try to divide us.

In recent years, some of us were witnessing a wave of lofi music gently rolling onto the shores of the cultural zeitgeist. We noticed that within this movement however was a space yet waiting to be filled; instrumental beach music for the playlist era. Dilla beats and warbling pianos are great background textures for relaxed concentration, but what about blissed out, sun-soaked synths by the pool?
Taking that concept and incorporating pedal steel guitar with tinges of island traditions, we are proud to present: Helium Orchids - Key Lime Stars.
Cabanas, hot tubs, & shorelines are the preferred milieu for our first offering. This music is intended to enhance warm sunny days and endless summer nights, or to invoke fond memories of either.

That night, with the big help of some family in town, I went down the street and played night 1 of the Bridgestone shows. Then I got back to the hospital for Ruth and I to experience our first night as parents.
My mother-in-law took this video while her, my sister-in-law, and wife watched the livestream.
Still can’t believe that day happened. My wife and family are amazing.
Life is wild.
