White Ink Architects has been named RSUA Practice of the Year - a milestone made even more special as we celebrate 25 years in practice - we couldn’t be prouder!
In a year where we handed over Mount Pleasant (one of the UK’s first projects through the new Gateway 3 process), opened our Edinburgh office, and celebrated 5 years as an Employee-Owned practice, being recognised in this way means everything.
But this award isn’t won by a practice - it’s won by people.
To every member of the White Ink team: your passion, expertise, and commitment to creating exceptional buildings for the people who live and work in them is what drives everything we do. As an employee-owned business, this win belongs to every single one of you.
To our clients - thank you for trusting us with your projects and for pushing us to be better. The relationships we’ve built over 25 years are the foundation of everything we are.
We also want to congratulate every practice and individual nominated last night. The talent and dedication on display reminded us how proud we are to be part of Northern Ireland’s architectural community.
Here’s to the next 25 years - building spaces people love, built by a team that cares about getting it right.
We’re growing - in Belfast, in Edinburgh, and in ambition. If you want to do meaningful work where your contribution genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you. careers@whiteink.co.uk

Sowing the Seeds for the Future of Our Industry
With concerns around the future pipeline of talent entering construction and design, it’s more important than ever to engage young people early and show how exciting a career in the built environment can be.
We recently spent time with primary school pupils, introducing them to the work we do at White Ink Architects and the wide range of professions involved in shaping our buildings, towns, and cities.
The highlight? Designing their own dream homes.
From underwater structures and jungle treehouses to houses in the clouds, the creativity on display was encouraging and a reminder that imagination sits at the heart of design.
By connecting with the next generation, we can inspire curiosity and ambition and encourage more young people to see a future in our industry.
The seeds have been sown.

This May Team White Ink will be taking on 2 charity events!
Our runners are gearing up for the Belfast City Marathon Relay in less than 5 weeks!
This year, RSUA are raising funds for Simon Community NI, helping provide life‑saving services and working toward ending homelessness in Northern Ireland.
We’ll also be tackling the Trek26 Giant’s Causeway challenge on Saturday 30th May 2026 — a breathtaking 13.1‑mile route from Carrick‑a‑Rede to Bushfoot Golf Club in support of Alzheimer’s Society.
Two very worthwhile causes and great days out for the team. Fingers crossed the weather is on our side!
Any support to either charity would be greatly appreciated and keep both teams motivated as they ramp up their training! See the links in our bio to donate.

Both projects deliver high-quality, affordable housing that combines strong design with a genuine sense of community. It’s great to see schemes like this recognised alongside other excellent work by local architects. Best of luck to all entrants - we look forward to the ceremony in May.

Some good news to start the weekend – Two recently completed White Ink projects have been shortlisted for an RSUA Ireland and Great Britain Award.
First up we have Canalside Regeneration Masterplan. White Ink Architects delivered three phases – Purple, Red, and Yellow - of the wider Sheerwater Regeneration Masterplan for Thameswey Developments and Gilbert Ash, reaching completion in stages from 2021 to 2024. The scheme created 404 homes, 256 of them affordable, transforming a low-quality estate into a desirable, sustainable neighbourhood in northwest Surrey.
